An Experience of Mine Worth Sharing with Others --- Written on November 1 - 2, 2021
It is now time that I write up an experience that I had this past summer before my memory of it fades too much. It takes place at the new Hannibal Riverfront that is truly impressive to visit and spend time at after the previous eyesore that it was before work began on it a couple of years ago.
This experience of mine happened on August 13, 2021, which, by chance, was on the 33rd anniversary of Denise and I meeting each other for the first time in person on August 13, 1988, which began a truly magical year for me during which I was Denise’s “Main Squeeze.”
While I was sitting on one of the many benches along the Mississippi riverfront, my guessing it to very roughly be about 12 feet above and 40 feet west of the rip-rapped western shoreline of the Mississippi River, in front of me scampered an elderly man, about age 80, if I were to guess, and as he quickly stepped lively from my right to my left, I noticed that he was carrying in his arms a long and very thin object, which I would determine to be a walking cane that never touched the ground. When this elderly man came to a stop about 10 – 12 feet away from me and facing the river, away from me, I asked him, “Do you take your walking cane out for a walk very often?”
This man laughed and he told me, "I guess that I do." I learned that he is from the state of Alabama and that he was visiting Hannibal. When I asked him what he does, he told me that after being in the printing business for many years, he is retired and he now does handyman work for his church in Alabama. (With him was another man about ten years younger than him.)
I eventually decided to pull out my billfold from my back pocket and I gave him one of my “Amateur Astronomer & Photographer” business cards. And I also gave him four of my Luke 21:25a/Matthew 24:29-30a prophecy cards, so that this man and his friend could look at both sides of this card at the same time, if either one of them wished to. I gave this man a brief explanation of this prophecy, as I have done for a few hundred people over the past 29 years, and counting.
I then asked this man if he has read the Book of Revelation in the Bible and he told me that he has. I then asked him if he was aware of the Two Witnesses in Chapter 11 of the Book of Revelation who are to prophesy. And he told me, “Oh, yes. I am aware of them.” I then told him, “Well, I just gave you what I am certain is their cornerstone prophecy.”
As this elderly man studied my prophecy card, I spent the next few seconds contemplating whether or not to go one step further. I then decided to, and I added, “And you may have just met one ‘em.”
As he studied my prophecy card a few seconds more, this elderly man replied back to me, “You know. I think that I may just have.”
As he walked away from me, this elderly man from Alabama thanked me for my prophecy and I told him, “You enjoy Hannibal.”
